Game Reviews

Review by Fifa 99 League Domain

EA Sports made a big step towards the gaming industry by introducing Fifa 99 into the market.  Realism was one of the key factors to improve when they were producing the game.  True enough, they came up with state-of-the-art stadiums and cool player movements as well as improved lighting effects.  The shadows casted by the players are no longer with sharp edges but with precision shadings.  The weather factor became very crucial in a match  which is also similar in real life.

Height of the players was not very obvious when you're playing the game but those tall players definitely had an avantage heading the ball. It is good to have some tall players as your defenders to clear the ball for your team.

The players which were recently transferred were in their correponding teams. This is a good sign but not for long. Take for example Duncan Ferguson, he's still in Everton because  the game had already been released. So all we can hope for is for some updates by kind hearted souls.

The semi-automatic goalkeeping was a good idea but when you face the computer, the player could actually react quicker than your 'keeper and shoot the ball pass your advancing 'keeper.

Ball control now is excellent as you will need it to face tougher opposition teams. Tackling has also been improved theresfore it's not so easy to run pass defenders. You'll have to run around them before you are free.

Quick Start mode lets a new player get the hang of the game indefinitely but then the irony is that it does not teach you the controls for the game. So you'll need to find out yourself.

The jerseys of the players are much more original and realistic as compared to the previous versions. More controls are available to let the player get maximum ball control over the game.

When playing at higher levels such as World Class, you'll have to be well trained before you can think of beating the computer. So in order to play in Fifa 99 League you can expect the challenge to be ten times more.
